On their very first day of college, Christina and Hunter separately participated in an orientation activity where the leader told everyone to stop, take out their phones, and take a photo with the people around them, because they might be some of the most important people in their lives. Christina and Hunter unknowingly captured each other in separate photographs—both taken at exactly 9:11 p.m. Despite sharing mutual friends, their paths did not truly cross until senior year.

When they returned to campus in fall 2021, they met up at their college bar, Bull Run. What was meant to be a casual meet-up turned into hours of conversation tucked away in an arcade booth. From that night forward, they were inseparable. It did not take long for Christina and Hunter to realize what they had found in one another. Just two weeks after they started dating, both knew they had met the person they wanted to spend their lives with.

After graduating from Bucknell University, their relationship continued through long drives and weekend visits. Hunter began working as a paralegal in Maryland, while Christina returned to New Jersey to attend law school. For the next year, Hunter spent nearly every weekend making the trip to New Jersey so they could be together. Eventually, Hunter joined Christina in New Jersey to attend law school himself, allowing them to create a life together.

Over the years, their family grew to include two cats, Lily and Maple, and in 2024, they moved in together and began building a home side by side.

Shortly after Christina took the bar exam, Hunter proposed in the beautiful Mohonk Mountains. The next day, they visited Bucknell, and visited the same Bull Run arcade booth where they fell in love four years prior. Looking back on where it all began was a meaningful reminder of how far they had come: from two students who happened to take photos of one another during a freshman orientation activity to a couple returning to the same campus four years later, engaged and ready to start their future together.
